India records one of the highest numbers of road accidents every year, yet most fleet owners lack visibility into what actually happens on the road.
Cautio set out to change that, but their early dashboard was cluttered, complex, and hard to navigate.
The goal was to create an experience that turns information into insight, and cameras into confidence for safety on roads.
Cautio’s AI-powered dashcams bring a new layer of intelligence to Indian roads, combining HD video recording, real-time alerts, and data analytics to help users drive and manage fleets responsibly.
To complement the hardware, we designed a dashboard that acts as the control center, allowing users to monitor live footage, analyze routes, and receive instant safety notifications.
The focus was on creating a dashboard that transformed raw, complex fleet data into something simple, visual, and actionable. Simplifying complexity: Redefined key workflows to reduce cognitive load, making it easier to monitor fleets, view footage, and access alerts in just a few clicks. Building a cohesive design system: Developed a flexible component library and style guide to ensure scalability, consistency, and quicker future iterations. Designing for real-world use: Collaborated closely with developers and testers to validate each feature against actual fleet operations and user behavior.
Designing for complex systems reinforced the importance of simplicity, clarity, and iteration. Building the design system from scratch improved both scalability and collaboration, while continuous feedback loops ensured every iteration served real user needs.
